Chinatown Restaurant strives to create a dynamic dining experience. Chinatown provides authentic Asian cuisine using carefully sourced ingredients of the highest quality, served in a casual, contemporary setting with emphasis on superior customer care.
The menu started solely with Chinese cuisine when the restaurant first opened in 1981, but expanded to include Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese, including a full service sushi bar when current Chef & Owner Ming Chan returned to the family business in 1996.
A graduate of Virginia Tech, Ming has spent the last two decades improving upon family recipes and creating new ones. A perfectionist at heart, Ming spends months obsessing over his recipes before adding them to the menu. Some signature dishes include; Steak Chinese Style, Sichuan Udon Noodles, Seafood Imperial, Crispy Yummy, and Green Curry.
In order to achieve the highest quality, Ming starts with the best possible ingredients. He sources non GMO, organic grass-fed beef and non GMO, grain-fed pork from local family farms. He goes a step further when it comes to seafood, accepting only wild caught domestic shrimp to ensure sustainability and quality.
During the summer months, you will often find Ming scouring farmers markets for the freshest produce, engaging local farms to grow specific vegetables for the restaurant and uses organic free range eggs from a local area farm.
Having been an integral part of the community for the last thirty years, Chinatown continues to grow with Winchester and the surrounding areas, distinguishing itself as an elite dining establishment providing quality food and service.
